Jersey April1st – The wreck of a vessel came on shore yesterday, on the north part of the island, and immediately went to pieces. Her cargo, consisting of balks of pine, and staves for puncheons, is strewed amongst the rocks, and it is supposed may be saved. From marks on the balks, and part of the wreck, there is no doubt the vessel was the John and Robert Kay from
New York to
Liverpool

The Linen Hall schooner, lately lost on the Wicklow banks, had 25,000 guineas on board, being part of 100,000 remitted from the Bank of Ireland to the Bank of England. The money and some other part of the cargo have been saved. The remittance, it is said was made upon the favourable state of the exchange between the two countries.
