A few days ago in the Birmingham workhouse, aged 77, Joseph SCRUISE, a Greenwich Pensioner, one of the last of Captain COOKE’s crew who saw the celebrated circumnavigator fall. To the latest period of his life SCRUISE dwelt with enthusiastic garrulity on the events of Captain COOKE’s discoveries and added his testimony to the historical facts which endear that hero’s memory to his greatful country and world at large

 

On Saturday the 9th, much and deservedly respected, aged 19 yrs, Ann, eldest daughter of Mr John BULLOCK of this town

 

On Saturday the 16th at her home in Great Nelson street East, much and deservedly respected, Miss LEIGH late of Warrington aged 60 Years
