  • Same day Mr. John FURNIVAL of Warrington, tanner, to Miss GRICE of Frodsham.

  • On Saturday the 17th, in Malta, by apoplexy, Sir Thos. MAITLAND, G C B and GC brother of the Earl of Lauderdale He was colonel of the 10th regiment of Foot, Governor of Malta, Commander of the Forces in the Mediterranean, and Lord High Commissioner of the Ionian Islands.
  • On Thursday 15th, aged 40 years, Mr. BARWISE of Warrington, many years an officer in His Majesty’s excise.
  • On Sunday the 25th at Alfred house, Camberwell, near London Vincent WANOSTROECHT LLD in his 43rd year.
  • On Thursday the 29th Mrs. ACKERS wife of John ACKERS of Rainhill, of this county.
  • On Sunday the 1st, at London, the Countess of Harrington.
  • Same day at Cheltenham, aged 78, the Rev Sir Henry Bate DUDLEY, Bart.
  • On Monday the 2nd the very beautiful and admired actress, Mrs. HARTLEY. She was a contemporary of Hartley, and we believe, the only one that remained, excepting Mr. QUICK and Mrs. MATTOCKS, who are still alive. Her extreme beauty, and the truth and nature of her acting, attracted universal admiration, and caused her to rank the highest (as a female) in her profession before the appearance of Mrs. SIDDONS. She was the very favourite subject of Sir Joshua REYNOLDS and appears as the beautiful female in several his most celebrated pictures Two are professed portraits of her called ” Mrs. Hartley as Jane Shore” and ” Mrs. Harley as a Rahane. A fine study for the former was recently sold at the late celebrated sale of the Marchioness of Thomond’s pictures at Christie’s. She died in easy circumstances, her merits, during her public services having earned her a handsome independence.
