The following prisoners have already been tried:

 

Peter GRIMSHAW, charged with having stolen divers Bank of England notes, from H.B. Hollinshead at Liverpool

 

John OSGETHORP, charged with having broken the warehouse of J KENWORTHY at Liverpool and with having stole therein, divers Bank of England notes – Guilty

 

John COLLINS, charged with having stolen divers Bank of England notes from P MACNAMARA and D DONNELLY, at Liverpool – ten months hard labour in the House of Correction

 

Stephen LENNON, charged with having robbed J HARTKOP on the King’s-highway at Liverpool – fourteen years transportation

 

James TURLEY, charged with having broken the Dwelling-house of R WOODWARD, at Liverpool aforesaid – seven years transportation

 

Soloman lane, charged with stealing a gold watch from J BRAITHWAITE at Liverpool – Guilty

 

Martha STANDISH, charged with stealing five Bank notes, value £5 and other articles, the proerty of W WARBURTON, her master – Guilty but recommended to mercy by the Jury and Prosecutor

 

Edmund STOTT and Samuel DEAN, charged with having stolen at Manchester, a bay gelding the property of the Duke of Bridgewater’s trustees – Guilty

 

Thomas SPENCE charged with having stolen two mares belonging to J RAINFORD at LATHOM – Guilty

 

William PRICE charged with having broken  and entered the dwelling house of C HOPWOOD at Heap – Guilty

 

Isaac CHAPMAN, charged with having robbed S RIDGEWAY on the King’s Highway at Barton-upon-irwell – Guilty

 

Richard HARRISON and Roger HARRISON charged with having broken the dwelling house of J COTTAM, Charnock Richard; also with having robbed P RUTTER on the King’s Highway at Charnock Richard aforesaid

 

Joseph LOWOOD for assaulting E BERTENSHAW, at Ashton-under-line and stealing from her a silk bonnet – Imprisoned twelve months and pillored

 

Thomas TURNER and Richard BRESKELL for having sent a letter to John CALVERT at Preston, threatening to accuse him of an unnatural crime with a view to extort the sum of £200 –Imprisoned two years

 

Eleanor MOORE for uttering to T Dixon at Liverpool, a counterfeit sixpence and having in her possession a large quantity of counterfeit shillings and sixpences – Guilty

 

Samuel LEACH for  stealing three halters from T SMITH at Heaton NORRIS –Guilty

 

John HOLLAND  for killing and slaying M BERRY at Orrel –Imprisoned for six months

 

W MADDOCK for bigamy Imprisoned 1 month

 

Abraham STOTT for stealing at Manchester, a bay gelding, the property of the Duke of Bridgewater’s trustees – Aquitted

 

Sarah Williams for stealing seven Bank of England notes from T EDDLESTONE at Liverpool – no bill

 

James BENSON for killing J FAIRCLOUGH at Claughton – no bill

 

There were 125 causes entered for trial in the Nisi prips Court
